First-Time Visitors: The most representative version of the book is the PDF designed for electronic viewing, which is the second link in the "Latest Version" list below. If your bandwidth is restricted, try the sample chapters mentioned a couple of paragraphs down.

Here you can obtain copies of the book and the underlying TeX source code. The versions here are almost all in PDF format, some for on-screen viewing, and others for printing. There is an online XML/MathML version, which is also available below as a tarball so you can grab it for local viewing without a network connection.

Copies of the entire book are about a 6 MB download. If you are only browsing, then there is a sample from Version 1.00 with just two of the roughly 40 sections (Sections SS and Section LDS from Chapter V, the second chapter) that is only about a 400K download.

The latest version is available first below, with (selected) older versions following in the museum. The source is available as a gzipped tarball, and the PDF versions come in a few different formats, with one optimized for on-screen viewing. The flashcards contain all of the statements of the definitions and theorems in the book. If you want to automate the downloading of new versions, or receive announcements of revisions, subscribe to the RSS Feed.

The change log will give you some idea of the pace of development, which is indicated by weekly releases when I am teaching the course, and rare releases when I am not. Version numbers increment in the hundredths place, with a zero in this place indicating some sort of fairly complete status. Once fully usable, the ones place will increment annually. During periods of active development, all recent versions are available here, but minor versions will eventually be discarded.
